Below is a collection of study tips to assist you
in memorizing various structures of the body. The order
below corresponds to the 3rd edition of the lab
manual, although it should match up
fine with future editions.
1. Anatomical Terminology
Each type of serous membrane has a visceral
and parietal layer. If you punched your fist into a
balloon, it would represent the organ, the balloon touching
your hand would be the visceral layer, and the outer most
layer of the balloon would be the parietal layer.
2. Integumentary System
Pneumonic for remembering the layers of the
epidermis (from deep to superficial): Good Skin Gets Lots
of Caresses = Germinativum, Spinosum, Granulosum, Lucidum,
Corneum
3. Skeletal System
